Dhulikhel Resort TEGOLA 151-Dark Grey Master Roofing Shingles
Gairidhara, Kathmandu, Nepal
Project Overview
Mountain Resort Roofing Designed to Complement Nepal's Natural Landscape

Set within Nepal's scenic mountain landscape, Dhulikhel Mountain Resort features an extensive pitched roofing system covering approximately 1,00,000 Sq. ft. The resort's distinctive red-brick architecture, landscaped surroundings and multiple sloping roof structures required a roofing solution that could provide both architectural consistency and dependable waterproofing.
TEGOLA 151-Dark Grey Master Roofing Shingles were selected to create a refined dark-grey roof profile that complements the resort's red-brick façades and surrounding greenery. The distinctive shingle pattern provides visual depth across the main building, guest cottages and other pitched roof structures while maintaining a consistent architectural character throughout the property.
The roofing system was supported by TEGOLA Super Seal (P)-25 APP Waterproofing Membrane and TEGOLA Primer (S)-25, creating an integrated roofing and waterproofing solution beneath the architectural shingles.

Completed on 1st June 2018, the project represents a significant TEGOLA hospitality roofing reference in Nepal.
Challenges
The project involved approximately 1,00,000 Sq. ft. of roofing distributed across multiple buildings and different pitched roof configurations within a mountain environment. Maintaining a uniform architectural appearance across the main resort building, guest cottages and associated structures, while providing an effective waterproofing system beneath the shingles, was a key project requirement.
Solutions
A complete TEGOLA roofing system was implemented using TEGOLA 151-Dark Grey Master Roofing Shingles together with TEGOLA Super Seal (P)-25 APP Waterproofing Membrane and TEGOLA Primer (S)-25. The system provided a coordinated waterproofing and architectural roofing solution while the 151-Dark Grey finish complemented the resort's red-brick buildings and surrounding mountain landscape.
Technologies & Materials Used
Materials Used:
To construct a durable, secure and fully waterproof roofing system, the following TEGOLA products were used:
The waterproofing system was installed using the Torching Method for the APP membrane, creating a strong bond and uniform adhesion before installation of the architectural roofing shingles. Together, the primer, APP waterproofing membrane and Master roofing shingles form a layered roofing system designed to provide waterproofing protection and the required architectural finish.
